Season of Sharing: As Florida nursing homes reopen, a Sarasota hairdresser gets her job back

After nearly six months of waiting for a call to return to work, Kathy Mitchell returns to doing what she loves: hairdressing and connecting with her clients in residential and long-term care facilities. For months, this return was put on hold and all of a sudden Mitchell had no money coming in for those early months. In the midst of unemployment and quarantine, Mitchell was able to keep her home thanks to $1,800 in rent assistance from Senior Friendship Centers through Season of Sharing for April, May and July.
