SARASOTA, FL – The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has launched an upgraded platform for The Giving Partner, an online resource and database connecting the community with more than 800 local nonprofit organizations, to better share trendlines from the nonprofit sector to strengthen our community.
The launch lays the groundwork for improved efficiency and capabilities ahead of the 2020 Giving Challenge, a 24-hour giving event that has since 2012 collectively raised more than $40 million to benefit local nonprofits, inspiring deeper connectivity between donors and the causes they care about.
Through the improved platform, nonprofit organizations with current profiles will be able to more effectively share their impact through an expanded, in-depth program section that shares an organization’s impact more clearly, in addition to a clean design with streamlined navigation. Moreover, a key aspect of the new platform’s functionality is its seamless connectivity with the 2020 Giving Challenge (set for April 28 – 29, 2020), allowing nonprofits to manage their own personal dashboard during the event and all-year long.
“As a leader in the community for 40 years, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has the ability and responsibility to analyze the needs we hear of, and through this next iteration of The Giving Partner, we are in a better position to do just that,” says Roxie Jerde, President and CEO of the Community Foundation. “Since its launch more than eight years ago, The Giving Partner has transformed charitable giving and impact storytelling across our region by empowering donors to make informed decisions about their charitable giving with access to detailed measures of impact, whether through financial records, success stories, or a combination of both. Though these upgrades have certainly enhanced the overall platform, its mission has remained the same: community-wide data to help inform and strengthen our community.”
The upgraded platform is powered by GiveGab, a digital solution for Giving Days and year-round fundraising for community foundations, nonprofits, and educational institutions. With a mission to transform organizations into effective fundraisers, GiveGab has worked with 25,000 nonprofits to raise more than $1.5 billion for diverse causes around the world. GiveGab was selected after an extensive national search and tasked with redesigning both The Giving Partner and 2020 Giving Challenge websites.
“While the previous platform captured measurable changes in the strategies of our nonprofit partners, our donors could not easily access and analyze the information in The Giving Partner to better guide and inform their grantmaking,” says Madeline Hansen, Manager of Nonprofit Services at the Community Foundation. “The relaunch of The Giving Partner with a new provider was identified as the process to make data more accessible and meaningful to organizations, individuals and funders, and GiveGab is helping us reach that goal. We look forward to seeing our community grow closer together and connect through this new platform.”
