DIAL Internship Program is a national summer internship program established by American for the Arts for undergraduate interns from backgrounds underrepresented in arts leadership which provides placement in a local arts host site for a curated set of substantive and challenging programming for the intern.
In their collaborative partnership bridging local opportunities with national talent, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and Americans for the Arts share a common commitment to promoting connection and creating healthy, vibrant, and equitable communities impacted through leadership development.
Program Goals
- Expand access to those from backgrounds underrepresented in arts leadership
- Co-create improvements to intern, staff, and board recruiting, hiring, and inclusion policies and practices
- Ignite local ecosystem of support for young leaders and local arts communities, including funders, private and public sector mentors, arts leaders, and community members
Sarasota is a city built around the arts and exciting performances, offering artists of all backgrounds and imaginations a distinct cultural oasis to explore, all under sunny skies and breathtaking waterfronts along the Gulf of Mexico.
Selected interns will be paired with a meaningful experience developed by a local Arts & Culture nonprofit organization, as well as mentorship opportunities that will deepen their understanding of and professional growth in the field of arts management.
