Before moving to Sarasota, Katie was the Volunteer Program Manager for Charlotte Family Housing, a homeless services nonprofit in Charlotte, NC. She has a variety of experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, including four years as a high school chemistry teacher in Union County, NC, and two years as a construction site supervisor with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte through the AmeriCorps program.

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education from the University of Delaware, where she also minored in Oboe Performance. She joined the Foundation in 2017 as the Coordinator of Stewardship and Events and was promoted to Philanthropic Advisor in October of 2018. She and her husband James love cheering for the Tampa Bay Rays, exploring the outdoors, and traveling, and they just welcomed their first child in August of 2019.
