Community Foundation of Sarasota County Adds Three New Members to Its Board of Directors

Dane DeSantis, Greg DiDomenico and Greg Parris recently joined the foundation’s board.

Sarasota, Florida — The Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s board of directors recently appointed three new members: Dane DeSantis, Greg DiDomenico and Greg Parris, each of whom will serve a three-year term. DeSantis is a business broker, entrepreneur and community leader and is also the owner and president of Hallmark Business Brokers, Inc. in Venice. DiDomenico, meanwhile, is the former president and CEO of the Community Memorial Foundation in Hinsdale, Illinois, a past leader of multiple nonprofit organizations and a current Lakewood Ranch resident. Finally, Parris is a former banking executive who retired from Bank of America, where he served as senior vice president and CFO of global banking and markets operations, and who now calls Longboat Key home.

As the foundation’s board grows, its elected officers will remain the same for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, which runs July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027. Paul Hudson, market leader and senior managing director at Northern Trust, will continue to serve as board chair, while Circuit Court Judge Charles E. Williams will continue in the role of vice chair. Mercedes Soler, the co-owner and president of Solmart Media, will continue to serve as secretary, and Laura Mattia, a senior vice president and financial advisor with Wealth Enhancement, will continue to serve as treasurer.

Dane DeSantis is an entrepreneur and community leader who serves as owner and president of Hallmark Business Brokers, Inc. Since acquiring full ownership of the firm in 2016, he has helped countless business owners successfully transition their companies by guiding them through valuation, preparation and sale. Beyond his professional work, DeSantis is deeply committed to the local community. He currently serves as board chair of the Laurel Civic Association and on the board of directors for Family Promise of South Sarasota County. Previously, he has held board roles with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast, the Sertoma Club of Venice and the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, where he served as president.

Greg DiDomenico served as president and CEO of the Community Memorial Foundation, a private foundation in Illinois that is dedicated to advancing community health and well-being, from 2012 to 2025. During DiDomenico’s tenure, the foundation became a regional leader in philanthropy and nonprofit capacity building, championing collaborative, responsive and innovative initiatives that empowered neighbors and strengthened the social sector. Before joining the foundation, he served as the executive director of multiple nonprofits and in other leadership roles. His board and committee service includes stints with Brookfield Zoo Chicago, the Illinois attorney general’s Charitable Advisory Council, Arts Alliance Illinois and the Gift of Adoption Fund. He also served as board chair of Forefront, the Illinois association of grantmakers, nonprofits and sector partners. In 2025, he was honored as humanitarian of the year by Illinois’ West Suburban Philanthropic Network.

Greg Parris retired from Bank of America as senior vice president and CFO of global banking and markets operations. Over his 40-plus-year career, Parris has held senior accounting and finance positions at S&P Global; JPMorganChase; Kidder, Peabody & Co.; Salomon Brothers; and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. A certified public accountant, Parris has also served as president of 100 Black Men of New Jersey and as a member of the finance committee of the state advisory board of the New Jersey Division of The Salvation Army. He is a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants and currently serves as treasurer on the board of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Foundation.

Continuing their duties as Community Foundation board members are Erik Arroyo, Dan Denton, Erin Duggan, Renée James Gilmore, Dr. Karen Hamad, Mitzie Henson, David Joyner, Jeff McCurdy, Dr. Janet Taylor, Jeff Troiano and Terri Vitale. Community Foundation President and CEO Jessica Muroff also serves on the board in an ex officio capacity. Andrew Stultz’s three-year term on the board recently concluded, capping off nine years of service.
