Our Staff

Kellie Gearon is Coordinator of Grant Administration at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. In this role, Kellie is responsible for receiving, entering, processing, and distributing grant recommendations from the Community Foundation’s donors and provides this same support for various other types of grants, including to nonprofit organizations and foundation initiatives.

Prior to joining the Community Foundation in January 2021, Kellie served for nine years as Assistant Director at My Choice Pregnancy Center, where she witnessed firsthand the incredible impact causes and those they serve can have on a community. In addition to her recent experiences within the nonprofit sector, Kellie has also worked in the world of publishing and finance.

Through it all, creativity has remained a mainstay of Kellie’s work. After graduating from Hofstra University with a B.A. in English, Creative Writing and Literature, Kellie put pen to paper and wrote a fiction novel in 2009.

While originally from New York, Kellie has called Sarasota her home for fifteen years. Most of her time outside of the office is spent with her husband and two daughters, exploring the outdoors, enjoying the beach, and sneaking in weekend getaways whenever possible. She is also an avid reader who has discovered a newfound love of yoga and is always up for a good cup of coffee.
