Rina Alvarez

Rina Alvarez, CAP® is Director of Donor & Advisor Engagement. In this role, Rina is responsible for engaging donors and financial advisors to advance philanthropy across communities and causes in our region. She accomplishes this by building strong relationships and providing education about community needs, charitable giving opportunities and other insights gleaned within the Foundation.

Rina has more than 20 years of leadership experience in bridging partnerships between the corporate and nonprofit sectors with previous roles at Kirkland & Ellis, National Philanthropic Trust, El Valor, and the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago. She is passionate about utilizing trends and best practices in her hometown of Sarasota.

Rina is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) and a 21/64 Certified Advisor. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Rina also received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana.

Rina is delighted to return to Sarasota after raising her two kids in Chicago. She finds inspiration whenever they visit during college breaks, as well as any time she’s around music, the arts, and the great outdoors.
