Rina Alvarez, CAP® is a Philanthropic Advisor at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and is responsible for working with individual donors to help them achieve their philanthropic goals through social impact investments in the community.
Rina’s career spans the charitable and legal sectors and has focused on strategic planning, development and equity and inclusion. She has over 20 years of experience in bridging partnerships between the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Rina is deeply committed to sharing trends and best practices with donors and their advisors to mobilize charitable capital and advance their philanthropic goals across diverse communities and causes.
Rina is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) and a 21/64 Certified Advisor. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Rina also received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, IN.
Rina grew up in Sarasota and is delighted to be back home after raising her two kids in Chicago. She finds inspiration whenever they visit during college breaks, as well as any time she’s around music, the arts, and the great outdoors.
