Students Age 24 and Older Are Encouraged to Apply for Community Foundation of Sarasota County Scholarships Through April 15
Categories:
Adult students can complete one common application to become eligible for more than 40 scholarship opportunities.
The Community Foundation of Sarasota County is accepting applications for its adult scholarship program through April 15, 2026. To qualify, students must be 24 or older as of Dec. 31, 2026, and they must be a resident of Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, or DeSoto County. Applicants should also be pursuing or planning to pursue further education at an accredited university, community college, technical school, or certification program.
Adult scholarships are awarded through a review process in which community volunteers evaluate applications by examining financial need, academic status, employment status, life experience, and an essay written by the applicant. While academic effort and commitment to education are valued, anyone interested in furthering their education is encouraged to apply and the foundation welcomes applications from students of all backgrounds and with different life experiences.
Overall, the Community Foundation awards more than $2 million in scholarships to 500-plus recipients each year through a wide variety of programs. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email by July 2026. Another scholarship cycle for adults 24 and up will begin in mid-August.
