Our Staff

Rebecca Abrahamson is Senior Manager of Communications at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

In this role, Rebecca’s responsibilities lie in creating and overseeing messaging that helps to tell the story of the Community Foundation and its impact in the region. Rebecca is responsible for maintaining the website, sharing stories through social media, and working with local press to increase awareness of the ways in which the foundation assists important causes, individual people in need, and nonprofit agencies.

Rebecca is a Sarasota native with deep ties and a passion for this community. She holds a master’s degree in Mass Communications-Journalism from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s in English Literature from Florida State University. She comes to the Community Foundation after two decades of working in Sarasota County Schools leading a magnet arts program.

A nature enthusiast, Rebecca spends all conceivable time outdoors, normally on long walks or runs. Family camping trips are her all-time favorite way to spend time. When not inhabiting her tent, she lives in Sarasota with her husband, Tod, and two daughters.
