Margaret Karakashian
General Counsel
Responsible for providing legal guidance and counsel to leadership and staff on a wide range of foundation matters, including planning and implementing operational policies and procedures, while maintaining relationships with professional advisors and donors.

Margaret Karakashian provides legal guidance to the foundation and its leadership, oversees legal and compliance matters, and supports the foundation’s work with donors, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. She joined the foundation in 2026 with a background in corporate and tax law. Prior to joining the organization, she was in private practice, advising clients on a range of business, transactional, and tax matters.
Karakashian earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, and both a Master of Business Taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
