Fund Description

Peggy Swain passed away peacefully June 9, 2021, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Born February 19, 1941, Peggy lived a vibrant life as a military wife while raising four children. She was also an entrepreneur, owning and managing a retail nursery as well as a family engineering company. She enjoyed traveling the world (especially Italy which was her favorite), and she was always connecting with and lovingly supporting her family and friends. In her earlier life, she lived in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. In the last three decades, she lived in Williamsburg, Virginia, for over 20 years, and moved to Wyoming for two years and to the Sarasota, Florida area for the last ten years. In her later years, she became even more philanthropic and gave aid to many causes and individuals who needed support and a helping hand.

She is survived by her son Rob, his wife Jill and grandson Connor; her daughter Rene’, her husband Wally and granddaughter Kristin; her son Chris, his wife Rachel and grandsons Ray and Ryan; and her daughter Holly and grandson Ben.

Established in her memory, the Peggy J. Swain Memorial Fund will support and benefit nonprofit organizations who provide services and programs which support caretakers of seniors and women and children who are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
