While the path to success may be unique for each student, the means to embark upon that path should be within reach of all families.

For the next generation of community leaders, the value of higher education has never been as vital as it is today. Yet, the affordability and accessibility of this education have become daunting challenges for families across our community, leading to crippling uncertainty and stress that may hinder achieving success.

While the path to success may be unique for each student, the means to embark upon that path should be within reach of all families, regardless of financial circumstance. Through scholarship opportunities, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County can empower students by helping alleviate the financial burden on families planning for higher education, allowing them to imagine the possibilities and fulfill their academic aspirations.

Scholarship opportunities should reflect the diversity and breadth of our applicants’ goals and dreams. That is why our definition of higher education encompasses a robust variety of institutions, from four-year universities to vocational training schools, broadening the educational horizons for students of all backgrounds. Regardless of institution, our main goal remains the same: to empower students not only to be accepted into their program of choice, but also to fulfill its requirements and reach graduation.

Through the generosity and passion of our donors, the Community Foundation is advancing opportunities for all who wish to pursue higher education in our community. Each year, we are able to award more than $2 million in scholarships, alleviating unnecessary financial stress to allow students to focus on their own path to academic and professional success.

Our main goal remains the same: to empower students not only to be accepted into their program of choice, but also to fulfill its requirements and reach graduation.
