Abigail's Farewell Message: Reflections on Four Years of Community Impact

Dearest Friends,

It is with mixed emotions that I share some news with you – Friday, December 20 will be my last day at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Over the past four years, this community of nonprofits has earned a special place in my heart. We have succeeded in two Giving Challenges together, raising more than $25 million for this community (and taking some pretty incredible selfies along the way). You’ve managed to laugh at my goofy jokes through Site Visit Shuffles, Giving Partner platform migrations, and countless workshops. For that, I thank you!

Often people say that new beginnings are something that just happen when the time is right. But the truth is, new beginnings are never easy. They remind us of where we have been and what we must leave behind when we choose to move on to our next journey. While I begin my next journey in Gainesville, FL, I want all of you to know how much my work with you has meant to me. No doubt, I will be watching the ticker come this April, cheering you all on through the 2020 Giving Challenge.
