Season of Sharing helps North Port family through tough time

Jason and Amanda Brown felt it was the perfect moment for a big change.
Early in 2021, they were notified that the 2,200-square-foot, four-bedroom rental home in Missouri where they lived with their four teenage children was going to be sold.
Amanda Brown had been longing to be closer to her mother and ailing grandmother in North Port, so it seemed like the right time to make a move Plus, it would be great to get away from northern winters and the snow.
The couple searched real estate websites for rental houses in southern Sarasota County similar to the $1,400they paid in Missouri. What they found online seemed promising – three-bedroom homes with monthly rents between $1,500 and $1,800.
