Shaterra Chism took three of her sister’s kids into her home to live with her over the last two years. After being laid off in March, her water was shut off and her car was about to be repossessed. A $1,500 financial assistance from the JFCS COVID-19 Emergency Hardship fund paid Chism's rent in July, and a $632 assistance from Season of Sharing paid her past-due water bill by early June.
