New Board Members Tom Baker, Audrey Coleman, Steve Dahlquist, Barbara Freeman and Kathie Roberts

At its May annual meeting, the board of directors of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County welcomed four new and one returning member. The new members are: Kathleen Roberts, a retired Human Resources professional with Federated Department Stores, Inc. in Miami and Atlanta, Kathie is currently a volunteer consultant for the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Nonprofit Resource Center.  Barbara Freeman is immediate past president of the Venice Art Center and president of the Friends of the Venice Library and the Arts and Culture Alliance. She is also Chair of the Community Foundation’s Arts, Culture and Humanities focus team. Audrey Coleman is a retired educator and a member of the boards of the Sarasota County Arts Council, Florida Westcoast Symphony and the Asolo Rep Theatre. Tom Baker is executive vice president with Synovus Bank and past president of both the Delaware Bankers Association and the American Institute of Banking. Steve Dahlquist is a Financial Advisor, CLU, ChFC, with the Private Client Group of Stanford Group Companies based in the Longboat Key office. Steve served 18 years on the board of the Community Foundation and rejoins the executive committee after a one-year break. He is Chair of the Charitable Planning Committee, a member of the Civic Engagement focus team and Vice-Chair of the Investment Committee.   Newly appointed officers of the Community Foundation board of directors include: Jim Shedivy, Chair Charla Burchett, First Vice Chair and Grants and Program Services Chair Diane McFarlin, Second Vice Chair and Secretary Steve Dahlquist, Co-Chair, Investment Committee and Chair, Charitable Planning Committee Erv Sande, Co-Chair, Investment Committee Gina Mascio, Treasurer, Chair, Finance Committee Patricia Courtois, Chair, Nonprofit Capacity Building Committee Lee Wetherington, Immediate Past Chair and Chair, Governance Committee
