Community Foundation Announces Scholarships for Englewood Students
Eleven Lemon Bay High School Seniors to receive a total of $29,500

The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has approved scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 for 11 graduating seniors from Lemon Bay High School. The scholarships come from the H.K. and Ruth K. Daniels Scholarship Fund, established in 1992 to provide scholarships for Englewood students who demonstrate academic ability and financial need.
The recipients of this year’s scholarships are:
1. April Clark- $3,000- plans to attend Unity College in Maine and major in Marine Biology.
2. Julie Goodwin- $3,000- plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University and major in Marine Biology
3. Courtney Halpin - $3,000 –plans to attend the University of South Florida and major in Journalism.
4. Samantha Harrington - $3,000 –plans to attend Southeastern University and major in Secondary Mathematics Education.
5. Kylie Kasten - $3,000 –plans to attend the University of South Florida and major in Athletic Training.
6. Colby Keefe - $3,000 –plans to attend Flagler College and major in Liberal Arts.
7. Kathryn Rigney - $1,500 –plans to attend the Ringling College of Art & Design and major in Graphic and Interactive Communication.
8. Anthony Saponara - $2,500 –plans to attend Florida State University and major in pre-med.
9. John Swoboda - $3,000 –plans to attend the University of Central Florida and major in Business Management.
10. Kayla Tiller - $1,500 –plans to attend Manatee Community College and major in Health Science.
11. Morgan White - $3,000 –plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and major in Aerospace Engineering.
