CFSC awards special project grant to Players Theatre
The Players Theatre received a Special Project Grant of $3,645 from the Thomas and Lola Seligman Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The Players will use the grant to purchase and install a large lumen projector system. The new projector will replace an existing projector that suddenly stopped working and could not be repaired.
“The projector system is not only a revenue source for us, but it is also used to enhance our productions,” said Michelle Bianchi Pingel, Managing Director of The Players Theatre. “We were shocked that the other projector suddenly stopped working and we did not have that expense budgeted this year. Thank goodness the Community Foundation was able to come through for us.”
The Players Theatre, Sarasota’s award winning community theatre, stages over 160 programs each year. Something for everybody…Broadway productions, children’s productions, dance, comedy, and playwright competitions. In its 84th year, The Players Theatre has achieved a reputation for presenting a diverse and entertaining slate of high quality, volunteer driven theatrical experiences that educate, stimulate and enrich the entire community.
